I didn’t start my career with Art Direction in mind. I began as an artist, showcasing work in galleries while managing employees at Patagonia. But it all clicked when I discovered art direction.

As someone who lives with dyslexia, I have spent a lifetime absorbing information visually. I made it through college with a strong work ethic and by approaching things differently. Math tests became visual journeys for me, often taking up every whiteboard I could find in my school’s libraries. This set the stage for how I create campaigns today. I dig deep into my work, become fully immersed, and explore every angle until the best solution emerges.

I love being an art director because that means I’m always learning. Getting into the mindset of different consumer audiences provides a window into many perspectives around the world. The more challenging the brief, the more exciting it is because it pushes me to dig even deeper.

My work continues to be inspired by my time I spend outside. You can find me surfing the waves of Lake Superior, rock climbing or exploring in the woods. I find that these activities fuel my creativity.
